A traditional audio technology that is still useful in the classroom is the cassette tape. They are still useful today because of how inexpensive they are and how easy they are to operate for any student. The most common use for these are the audio books which can help students that have trouble with reading comprehension or are visually impaired.
An emerging audio technology would be MP3's and other digital audio files that can be downloaded on the computer or hand held MP3 players. There are several uses for MP3's such as emailing verbal instructions for the class to the parents and/or students to make sure they are followed correctly. Music can also be played in the classroom while the students do activities to make the classroom more inviting.
A traditional visual media in the classroom would be printed materials such as newspapers, textbooks, pictures, worksheets and primary sources that students can see and read on their own. This is the most basic form of visual media but it is the most widely used still and for good reason. Print is inexpensive for every student to be able to have access to it. Unfortunately for print it is not interactive and it can be very boring for students causing a lack of effort from the class.
An emerging visual media would be the computer. Computers are extremely versatile especially when the internet is involved. The computer can bring classrooms around the world together in video conferencing as well as video demonstrations. Power point presentations provide for a much more visual and stimulating lesson for the students and interactive activities such as games can engage the students in ways traditional media could never achieve.

Chapter 6
After reading about the use of digital technology in the classroom along with my own personal experiences I decided that I would like to teach in a classroom with more digital technology. Today's world is surrounded by technology and starting students early is essential. Technology will help engage the students, make lessons much more enjoyable and exciting for both teacher and student, bring greater productivity to the classroom and it can make the teacher's life much easier. Technology will also bring several different dimensions to the classroom from interactive software and games to video presentations and research that will help the students to think more critically and become more creative problem solvers.

Super Bowl Commercials
I have to say out of all the commercials aired during the Super Bowl the one I liked the best has to be the Bridgestone commercial with the woodchuck. The commercial was seemingly dry and unoriginal when the man driving his car avoids the woodchuck with his slick new tires. Then in the end the woodchuck helps the guy avoid the bridge being washed away by the river and as the man gets out of his car and looks to the woods he sees the woodchuck give him "what's up" chest pound. Confused and amazed the man gives an awkward, confused "what's up" back to the woodchuck. Out of all the commercials that one stuck with me more than any other one and it made me laugh the hardest.
